Starling murmuration is a mesmerizing aerial dance of thousands of starlings, forming shifting, cloud-like patterns in the sky. We call it "Black Sun”.
Our "Black Sun ´" stay combines the nature experience with a mini stay in beautiful old Ribe, delicious meals, and relaxation.
The stay includes breakfast every day as well as a dinner menu on the day of arrival. The menu is served at one of the city’s good restaurants, located just a few minutes’ walk from the holiday centre.
On the second day, about an hour before sunset, we meet and go on a guided Black Sun tour. The Black Sun bus departs directly from the holiday centre. We pack a coffee basket with some treats and a blanket for the trip.
The Black Sun phenomenon can be experienced in spring and autumn – typically from late March to early April, as well as in September and October.
The tour takes place by bus from the holiday centre, and when we arrive at the destination, we may need to walk a short distance. A nature guide accompanies all tours. We always recommend joining tours with trained guides, partly because they know where the birds are most likely to gather, and partly because they know best how we can experience nature without disturbing the animals.

The holiday apartment is 54–68 m² and equipped with 1–2 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and bathroom — plus a balcony or patio.
We provide made-up beds and towels.

Black Sun Tour by Bus
The bus departs directly from the holiday center. The tour takes place on the second day of your stay. We provide some treats for the trip.
Duration: approx. 3 ½ hours.
Important! Warm, wind- and waterproof clothing, practical footwear, and optionally a seat pad and binoculars. Remember your passport (some tours cross the German border).
